Who are we?

Uhmurs is a concept born in 2020 by Rae’ven Moon. While a student at UC Berkeley, she was quickly drawn to the tenets of environmental design, particularly topics such as biophilia and organic architecture. These concepts teach that humans possess an innate desire to seek connections with nature. Thus, when humans are surrounded by a natural environment, we experience enhancements to our mental and physical well-being. Specifically, we have seen improvements in mental headspace, calmness, creativity, and productivity. Uhmurs was founded to introduce and promote this concept to everyone, starting with our local community.

Our founding team came together around a passion for improving the well-being of others. It’s time to redefine our ideas of remote and hybrid work to emphasize our physical and mental well-being, a reconnection to our communities, and the beautiful world around us. That is precisely what Uhmurs strives to do.

Claire Drewery is the head of operations at Uhmurs. She brings experience in construction management and product development as well as a passion for biophilic design and aesthetics. Claire has been working remotely for most of her career, so she is always searching for creative ways to better her work-life balance. Her favorite activity for finding her balance is gardening.

Kaelin Rooney is the head of marketing at Uhmurs, specializing in video and photographic imagery. His video work with hostels and tourism companies in South America taught him the innate value of working by and in nature.
